On September 11, 2001, the world changed forever. And that day, for the passengers of 38 planes from around the world and the people of the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, that world suddenly got more crowded.
Based on true events, the musical Come from Away recounts the stories of the islanders and the plane people when the United States' airspace was closed after the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and a town of 7,000 people immediately doubled in population with the emergency grounding of aircraft. With no clear timeline on when they would reach their destinations and limited phone and online access, the plane people had to cope for several days in cramped quarters and borrowed clothes. But the friendly townspeople of Newfoundland rose to the occasion, staying up for days on end to feed and comfort those who were separated from those they loved and shocked by the state of the post-9/11 world. In this 25th anniversary year of those tragic events, we are proud to present this inspiring, humorous, and heart-warming story that can't help but change all those who see it.

In line with Acting Out for Good's charitable mission, proceeds from Come from Away will be donated to the Resiliency Project, a reclamation program at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, PA, which honors the sacrifices of the 40 passengers and crew who lost their lives on 9/11 attempting to save others. The Resiliency Project will create the optimal growing conditions for 40 groves of trees, one for each hero.
